MACL advises against taking selfies with passengers

Maldives Airports Company Limited has requested people to refrain from taking selfies with passengers at the airport, as a precautionary measure against the Covid-19 virus in the Maldives.

The company requested after two locals had to be isolated for coming into contact with ex-Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini who later tested positive for the virus after departing from the Maldives.

The two locals were placed in isolation. The government had, later on, announced that the two that came into contact with the footballer had tested negative for the virus.

MACL stated that it was not advisable to take photos or selfies where close contact could occur and requested its employees to maintain appropriate distance accepted socially during the work environment.
