Maldives restricts travel from Spain, Germany and France

The Maldivian government, on Saturday, announced the decision to impose a ban on air travel from Spain, and several regions of Germany and France.

The decision was announced by Tourism Minister Ali Waheed at a press conference on Saturday afternoon.

The travel bans will take effect at 00:00 hours on Sunday, March 15.

“We have decided to impose a temporary travel ban on tourists from anywhere in Spain, effective from 000:00 hours, and an additional ban on tourists from specific regions of France and Germany, effective from 00:00 hours,” announced Ali Waheed.

He said the regions of France and Germany which the travel ban applied to would be announced later this Saturday.
