Discrepancies have been noticed in the regularization program for undocumented migrants in the country run by the Economic Ministry.

The ministry provides a card to those who register under the program and a photo circulating on social media currently shows the nationality of a Bangladeshi migrant incorrectly written on the regularization card.

The man’s passport shows that he is a Bangladeshi national, while the card of regularization program read that he was Bahraini national.

Lawyer Ahmed Nazim Abdul Sattar also tweeted that a migrant named Abdulla who worked as a technician was named Rabbi Shariatpur in the regularization card.

No word from the Economic Ministry is available on the matter yet.

Minister Fayyaz has stated that around 31,000 migrants had registered under the program which was still underway.

Many businessmen have stated the program has not brought a solution to the issue of migrants and “Sun” is aware that not much other than registering is conducted under the program.
