Fire in former children's center building in Maafushi

A fire broke out in the building previously used as a Children’s center in K. Maafushi.

Now used as a storage go-down, the fire broke out in the building around 9:15. MNDF personnel was also involved in dousing the flames as well as residents. No one was injured in the accident.

The fire was later put out and authorities stated that it had originated from building built metal sheets. The building has been abandoned for years and the fire affected a large part of the building.
