Ministry designates areas in Villimale’ for 24-hour business

Economic Ministry has announced areas where 24-hour businesses can b run in the Male’ city suburb of Villimale’.

The Ministry yesterday announced two areas with the first being the Villimale’ ferry terminal area. The second area is the “Waaru Hingun” road. Application forms are available from the Ministry for those who wish to conduct business in these areas. The deadline for applications is on February 29, 2020.

Only goods that are of necessity will be allowed for sale by businesses in the import sector. The location of the businesses would also be inspected by the Ministry before being permitted to conduct business.

Service should be available for 24 hours every day with the exception of prayer break. The business must also be under 24-hour CCTV surveillance. If it is a café’-hotel, smoking will be prohibited inside from 1:00 to 4:30 in the morning.
