Former Disability Ambassador's passport held amid child abuse allegations

The passport of the former disability ambassador Ahmed Hishan has been held by the authorities as a cloud of sexual harassment and child abuse allegations hover over him.

A Police media official confirmed to “Sun” that Hishan’s passport was held, but did not state the reason why.

It was widely shared on social media that Hishan stopped from departing the country by Police, who boarded a plane to Sri Lanka to deplane the former ambassador on January 31, 2020.  Police also confirmed that Hishan was summoned to the Police on January 31, 2020, to be questioned for a case under investigation.

Police did not elaborate on what case Hishan was summoned for questioning on the date. Several accusations of child abuse and sexual harassment against Hishan has been made on social media.
