Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has warned that some islands may experience sea swells during high tide.

Predicted bad weather has prompted the office to issue a white weather alert and noted that heavy showers might affect islands in central and southern regions of the country. Adverse weather is also likely to be experienced in islands to the north.

While seas are expected to be rough, the southern areas of the country will experience moderately rough seas. Wind speeds will be around 17 miles per hour for southern atolls, while for other areas winds are expected at around 15-25 miles. Winds are likely to increase to 40 miles during gusts.

The office also warned that sea swells might affect some islands during high tide with waves of three to seven feet.
