PG submits case of drug traffickers escape to NIC

The Prosecutor General’s Office has submitted a case to the National Integrity Commission (NIC) regarding two foreigners, accused of trafficking drugs, who managed to depart from the Maldives desipte the seizure of their passports.

A tweet by the PG Office today read that the two were Bangladeshi nationals whose passports were seized in connection to a drug trafficking case ongoing in the Criminal Court.

“We have requested the National Integrity Commission to investigate the matter of their departure.” read the tweet by PG Office, which refrained from naming the responsible party in the case.
