Elderly man found deceased in Shaheed Ali Mosque

An elderly man has been found deceased inside the Shaheed Ali Mosque in Male’ City.

The police were alerted to reports of a man lying motionless inside the mosque at 11:12 am this Tuesday.

The man, identified as an 83-year-old Maldivian citizen, was taken to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Doctors at IGMH confirmed the man had already been deceased when taken to the hospital.

The case is being looked into by the police.
