A conference has been held to provide information on the educational opportunities available for Maldivians in Kerala.
The conference held in Hotel Jen by the Education Ministry, Higher Education Ministry and the Bangladeshi Embassy was taken part by school principals and students. Students and senior figures of Billabong International High School, Villa International High School, Ahmaadhiyya International High School and Center for Higher Secondary Education took part in the conference.
Kerala State Higher Education Minister K.T. Jaleel who spoke at the conference stated that four students will be given opportunities to study in Kerala. Minister Jaleel also expressed his hope that the Maldives become a knowledge-based economy due to the close relations between Maldives and Kerala, before highlighting on the engineering sector in Kerala.
He also noted that Kerala was a safe area with one of the highest literacy rates in India.
