Advisory Committee to be formed for Arbitration Center Board

A 10 member Advisory Committee to revise the "Arbitration Rules" of the Maldives International Arbitration Center will be formed, according to the center.

Applications can now be submitted for the Committee. The Maldives International Arbitration Center was formed to develop arbitration in the country and pave the way for arbitration policies.

Board members of the center include Chairman Shahudhy Anwar, Safa Shareef, and  Hussain Siraj as members. Those who apply for the advisory committee must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the legal field and should have relevant experience in the field of arbitration. Applications can be submitted until Monday, October 14. Documents can be submitted via email to [email protected].

The Arbitration Act of Maldives was formed in 2013, however, it has not been fully implemented yet.
