Police warn vehicles parked illegally in 3 locations will be towed

The traffic police, in face of an increase in illegally parked vehicles in three locations in Male’, warns that any vehicles found illegally parked in the locations will be towed.

Traffic police has issued a statement saying it has noticed an increase in illegal parking in several locations in the congested capital. They are:

  • The stretch of road from the junction of Boduthakurufaanu Magu and Meheli Goalhi (in front of the MTCC ferry terminal) to Bank of Maldives’s US dollar ATM service center in Boduthakurufaanu Magu
  • The stretch of road in from of the Bank of Maldives customer service center in Ameenee Magu
  • Kanba Aisa Rani Hingun (near Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital)

The traffic police warn that illegally parked vehicles in the three locations, as well as illegally parked vehicles in general, will be towed.

Records released by the traffic police show 76 vehicles were towed for illegal parking last week, while 15 vehicles were towed last Tuesday alone.
