India's Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat has met with the Foreign Minister of Maldives Abdulla Shahid.

The two met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed the close relationship between Maldives and India and dangers posed to the world among other subjects. The Foreign Minister also noted the assistance India provides on safety and security to the Maldives.

Minister Shahid was also joined by Foreign Affairs Secretary Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, Maldivian advisor to India Colonel Ahmed Thohir and India Division Director Mariyam Midhufa Naeem at the meeting.

Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat will also meet with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and cabinet ministers during his trip and met with Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi yesterday.
