Former Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called the current administration to stop politicizing things and blaming President Yameen's administration for any situation faced.

Some government institutions and councils have stated that time was needed to reprimand the negligence of the previous administration. However, at a news conference by opposition PPM/PNC held last night, Muizzu stated that a sufficient amount of time has been given to correct the mistakes of the previous administration. He also called to stop pointing out the incomplete efforts of the previous administration.

"If rain falls, we should be trying to reduce the water levels and lessen the burdens we are faced. If the systems of the previous administration are not good enough, shouldn't this administration provide a stronger system? The government has the opportunity to do this, don't they? Ten months have passed,"

"Ten months have passed, to correct all of this. There is no room for excuses. So they need to stop these pointless things and come out to serve the people." said Muizzu.

The Male' city council stated in a news conference with reporters that a solution to the flooding issues faced by the capital would be found within the year. The issue of Male' city roads flooding due to rainfall has been a persistent one.

"Chemical storages should have been moved to the industrial zone by now"

Speaking about the chemical storages in the city, Muizzu stated that seven hectares of land were reclaimed on the North West side of the capital to deal with the problems faced by the residents due to these storage facilities. Muizzu also stated that the previous administration had completely prepared the industrial zone for this purpose.

Muizzu also stated that this was a task that should have been completed within the ten months of this administration.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has ordered the immediate relocation of these chemical storage facilities to uninhabited areas due to the devastating fire caused by one such facility last Friday. Defense Minister Mariya Didi has also stated yesterday that land would be provided for such facilities in Gulhifalhu and Thilafushi.
