ADK: Maldivians born with brain defects number high

ADK Hospital has stated that people born with brain disorders number high in the Maldives. 

Ahmed Afaal, Managing Director of ADK stated to "Sun" that this was displayed from a recent survey conducted by the hospital. The papers of the survey were presented at the Brain and Spine Conference that concluded yesterday.

Afaal also stated that more research will be done into this and efforts will be made to get to the bottom of these disorders and deformities. He also applauded the success of the Brain and Spine Conference that saw nearly 300 professionals in the industry take part in the conference.

"We saw the latest technology and techniques be displayed at the conference. Some 300 experts in the industry took part this year. There were also hands-on workshops carried out at the conference," said Afaal.

Afaal also stated that 63 papers were presented at the conference.
