ADK becomes first local medical institute to publish a scientific journal

ADK Hospital has become the first medical institute to publish a scientific journal in Maldives.

The journal, ADK Journal of Health and Medicine, was unveiled at the inauguration of the 3rd Brain and Spine Conference at Paradise Resort by health minister Abdulla Ameen this Wednesday.

At the inauguration of the two-day conference, ADK Hospital’s managing director Ahmed Afaal reiterated the hospital’s commitment to improving the national health care system through medical research and new discoveries.

“You will henceforth hear about our researches such as researches on spinal surgery. This will make us progress into a whole new complex and advanced stage,” said Afaal.

ADK Hospital recently conducted research into brain diseases prominent among Maldivians, the paper on which is scheduled to be presented at the ongoing Brain and Spine Conference.

The hospital says it will be presenting two research papers at the conference which hold new medical findings.
