Prime Minister of Sri Lanka to visit Maldives

The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe and his wife will be visiting the Maldives on an official trip on September 2 after an invitation was extended by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. 

The Prime Minister will be joined on this trip by some members of his cabinet. Talks to strengthen the ties between the Maldives and Sri Lanka will be held during this trip, according to the President's Office. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will also chair the Indian Ocean Conference 2019 held in the Maldives from September 3 to 4 during this trip.

The Indian Ocean Conference is held jointly by the Maldivian government and the Indian Foundation and is partnered by S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies in Singapore.
