A Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) oil tanker has wrecked off the coast of K. Kaashidhoo.
The Coastguard says the incident was reported to the agency in the pre-dawn hours of this Thursday.
The 100-foot oil tanker, Maatholhi, had six crew members onboard when the incident took place.
The Coastguard is currently working on moving the tanker off the reef using a Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) tugboat.
The tanker was carrying 27,000 liters of petrol and 180,000 liters of diesel.
Coastguard reports there is no risk of an oil spill.

Note: Sun Online apologizes for the earlier erroneous report that the oil tanker belonged to State Trading Organization (STO). The oil tanker belongs to Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) – one of STO’s subsidiaries.
