Shamoon Hameed has been apointed as the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage.
The letter of appointment was handed over to Shamoon Hameed, by the President of Civil Service Comission Dr.Ali Shameem, in a ceremony held in the Heritage Ministry this Monday morning.
Heritage Minister Yumna Maumoon, high officials of the ministry and members of Civil Service Comission attended the ceremony.
Hameed has been serving in the Maldivian government since 1986.
Shamoon Hameed did his Masters in Music Composition from Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney and his Bachelors Degree in Music from Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University.
Hamood has filled important positions such as Secretary General of Human Rights Comission, Director General of National Center For the Arts, Director of National Center for the Arts, Director of Dhivehi Raajege Adu and Music Supervisor of Ministry of Education in the past.
In 1992 Shamoon Hameed was awarded the National Award and Shield for his services in the Music Industry.
