Police conduct spot checks on 134 vehicles on Sinamale’ bridge, highway

The Traffic Police conducted spot checks on 134 vehicles over the past two days in an operation on accident-prone areas of Sinamale’ Bridge and Hulhumale’ Highway.

The Traffic Police, in the operation, confiscated driving licenses of 11 people for traffic violations.

The agency also stopped six licenses drivers who were driving without their license, and stopped 23 unlicensed drivers.

Unlicensed driving carries a MVR 1,000 fine for first time offenders, and MVR 1,500 fine for repeat offenders.

A licensed driver discovered driving without his/her license will be fined by MVR 750.
