MU Maniku re-elected Chairman of MATI

Mohamed Umar Maniku (MU Maniku) has been re-appointed Chairman of the Maldives Association for Tourism Industry (MATI) for another term.

MU Maniku has been serving as Chairman of MATI since its inception, and is also the Chairman of Universal Enterprises, which operates the first resort opened in Maldives, the Kurumba Maldives.

He is also on the Board of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

Meanwhile, Mohamed Afeef (Champa Afeef) and Solah Shihab – director at Voyages Maldives – were re-elected as vice chairmen.

Director of Crown Company, Ahmed Nazeer was re-elected Secretary-General of MATI, Assad Ali from Driftwood Maldives was re-elected Deputy Secretary-General, and Ahmed Hafeez from Lily Hotels was re-elected as Financial Controller of MATI.

Nine more were appointed to MATI’s Executive Board. They are:

  • Ahmed Siyam Mohamed – Sun Siyam Group
  • Moosa Solih – Maldives Airports Company Limited
  • Ibrahim Siyad Qasim – Villa Group
  • Ibrahim Nooru’dheen – Mirihi Island Resort
  • Iyaz Waheed – Kurumba Maldives
  • Wisha Mahir – Universal Enterprises
  • Ismail Siyan Qasim – Villa Group
  • Aisthah Neena Ahmed – En’boodhoo Maldives
  • Zulaikha Manik – Sun Siyam Group
