Sun Siyam Media has signed as the media partner of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI)’s ‘Reethi Raajje’ campaign aimed at promoting cleanliness in the Maldivian environment.
The partnership agreement was signed by Sun Siyam Media’s Chief Content Officer Mohamed Zaheen and MATI’s Secretary General Ahmed Nazeer.
MATI’s Deputy Executive Officer Mohamed Yasir said the year-long campaign is aimed at instilling proper waste management practices among the public in collaboration with tourism industry workers and the general public.
In this regard, Yasir detailed MATI’s intention to raise awareness among the associations and the people about what they can do to address waste instead of just cleanups.
“We will highly focus on the importance of recycling various types of waste. There are various organizations involved in recycling in the Maldives, people who collect waste for the purpose,” he said.
Yasir expressed hope to see collaboration at all levels in waste management as a civic duty by the end of the campaign.
The campaign is set to kick off in the southernmost Maldivian atoll. Activities under the campaign will be expanded to all atolls.
Yasir underscored receiving cooperation from all relevant authorities for the campaign, therewith, expressing his gratitude.
A documentary-style program will be produced which will cover the activities carried out under the campaign and will also feature informative content to raise awareness regarding waste management.
