Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has said that 80 percent of the work at the new fire station being built at Velana International Airport has been completed.
The company said that while the station is nearing completion on schedule, they are also looking for the machineries required for the building.
A total of MVR 1.7 billion is included in the state budget for 2019 to continue the airport development project inaugurated by the previous President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
The project being run by foreign loans has MVR 978 million for the runway and over MVR 680 million in loans for the terminal.
