President Solih returns after State Visit to India

The President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has returned to the Maldives after concluding his first State Visit as the President, after taking office, to the neighboring India.

After completing the three-day visit, the President Solih and the First Lady landed at Velana International Airport this evening at 7 p.m.

President Solih and First Lady were officially welcomed on the State Visit at a ceremony held on Monday, at the Presidential Palace, Rashtrapati Bhavan. They were officially received during the ceremonial welcome by the Indian President, Ram Nath Kovind, and Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

As part of the State Visit, President Solih and Prime Minister Modi led the official talks between the two countries and four key documents were exchanged between the two governments as part of the State Visit.

 

During the State Visit, President Solih and First Lady were hosted at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, as special guests of the Indian President.

 

The President was accompanied by cabinet ministers and MPs on his visit.
