Spontaneous combustion destroys car in Addu City

Spontaneous combustion has resulted in the destruction of a car in Hithadhoo, Addu City.

The car was being driven on the Link Road when it burst into flames near the Hithadhoo garbage collection point.

There were three people on board the car when the incident took place, none of whom suffered any injury.

Maldives Police Service says the incident was reported to the authority at 1:50 am this Tuesday.

The fire was put out by the MPS and MNDF’s Fire and Rescue Department.

MPS says the car has been damaged beyond use.
