Maldives Police Service has sent a summon order to the former President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to appear their head.
The Secretary General of MSP, Mohmed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) has confirmed to Sun Media.
He said that the summon order to appear at the Police station on 2 p.m. was personally accepted by the former President.
While the former President is being summoned by the police, there are many allegations of corruption against the former President.
Some of those allegations have been filed with police by MDP. And the MDP Chairperson has called for a fast investigation on those cases.
Former President Yameen has also been accused of attempting to leave the country. However, the President said that he would continue to serve the country.
