Former Assistant Commissioner, Abdul Mannaan Yoosuf, has been appointed to the position of Deputy Commissioner of the Maldives Police Service.
The announcement was made in a tweet sent out by the Maldives Police Service today.
The new Deputy Commissioner has been in the police service for a long time before being discharged and re-hired again. He was discharged following allegations of his involvement in attempt to arrest the former President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom with a falsified court order.
Mannaan's case was appealed and found not guilty of involvement in the attempt.
