Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has responded to requests by members of the general public to reopen the Islamic Center Maizaan to vehicles.
Many members of the general public expressed concern over the congestion in Male’ City during the Jazeera Holhuashi forum held by President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Ibu) last Monday night.
Several citizens specifically talked about congestion resulting from the closure of part of Medhuziyaaraih Magu and Ameer Ahmed Magu.
In response, Dr. Muizzu tweeted this Tuesday afternoon that the area from the Republic Square to the Islamic Center Maizaan to the Ransrani Bageecha is a peaceful and serene environment safe for children, in the middle of a congested city.
He also said the area allows for appreciation of the beauty of the Islamic Center and accommodates large religious sermons.
