1 injured in stabbing in Male’ City

A young man has been injured in a stabbing in Male’ City.

‘Sun’ has been informed the stabbing took place near the pizza outlet ‘The Dough by Jelly’ located in the Maafannu district of Male’ City last Friday night.

Bystanders at the scene report the police took forensic samples from the scene.

‘Sun’ has been informed the victim of the stabbing did not sustain any serious injuries.

Maldives Police Service confirmed such a crime took place. But refused to disclose any details related to the case.

The past one-month period has seen a rise in gang violence in Male’ City. Two young boys have been killed in such attacks; one in front of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) headquarters and one in front of the Auto Garage in the Henveyru district.
