MNDF locates Lhohi man missing at sea

The young man from N. Lhohi reported missing after leaving on a solo fishing trip has been located by Maldives National Defense Force.

MNDF says Adnan Hussain, 30, was located this Thursday during an aerial search of the area via seaplane. The authority says Adnan is unharmed, and is being transported to N. Manadhoo by the Coastguard.

Adnan left from Lhohi on a solo fishing trip at 10:30 pm last Wednesday. Contact was last made at 1:30 am this Thursday, when Adnan said the boat was between Lhohi and Manadhoo.

An official from the Lhohi Council who spoke to “Sun” said Adnan does not normally travel alone.

He was travelling on a 15-foot boat painted light blue with a six horsepower outboard Suzuki engine.
