Maldives Police Service says a t-shirt, believed to belong to one of the two boys who went missing after going swimming at Hithadhoo, Addu City on Saturday, has been found.
Police media official reported the Maldives National Defense Force’s Coastguard is engaged in a continuous operation to locate the two missing boys. The official said the t-shirt was discovered from the area last Saturday night, and is believed to belong to one of the two missing boys.
Meanwhile, MNDF’s spokesperson Captain Ibrahim Azim reported the authority has so far covered three nautical miles in its sea and air operation to locate the two missing boys.
MNDF’s helicopter “Kurangi” has been mobilized in the search and rescue operation via air, an MNDF speedboat has been mobilized to search the surface area of the sea, and a team of divers has been mobilized to search below the water.
Locals have also joined in the search and rescue operation for the two boys. A team of divers made up of locals started searching the waters in the area this Sunday morning.
The missing boys have been identified as a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old. Both are locals and know how to swim.
