Total 44 students ranked 1st place at the GCE A’ Level examinations in 2017.
The students who ranked top 10 places at the GCE A’ Level examinations in 2017 were conferred their awards at the Top Achievers Awards held in Rannabandeyri Maalam of Dharubaaruge last Sunday night.
Three students who ranked 1st place at the GCE A’ Levels and achieved A* in five subjects were presented with Presidential Scholarships.

33 students ranked 2nd place at the Top Achievers Awards, and seven students ranked 3rd place.
Four students also won the Edexcel High Achievers Awards.
Six Maldivian students who received top marks internationally from subjects were also presented with awards during Sunday’s function.

Speaking at the function, Chief Guest, the Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Shiham said Maldivian students have made great achievements in higher secondary examinations over the past couple of years.
“I note with pleasure the increase in number of students who ranked first place with A’s in five subjects during the exam in June, 2017,” said Dr. Aishath Shiham.

She also noted the increase in number of students who ranked 1st place, from just 11 students in 2013 to 44 students in 2017.
