Adeeb transferred to Maafushi Prison again

Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor has been transferred to Maafushi Prison from Dhoonidhoo Prison for the second time in one month.

Adeeb was transferred from Dhoonidhoo to Maafushi Prison on February 1, and then transferred back to Dhoonidhoo Prison after one week.

Adeeb’s spouse, Mariyam Nashwa reported that Adeeb informed her of the Maldives Correctional Service’s decision to transfer him to Maafushi Prison this Tuesday during the last family phone call.

Adeeb, the former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s right-hand man, has been sentenced to 33 years in prison.
