Nihan: PPM and MDA members are ready for tomorrow's session

Leader of the PPM Parliamentary Group, Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik has said that the MPs of PPM and the government coalition, MDA, are ready for the parliament sitting tomorrow.

Parliament has confirmed that a special sitting of the parliament has been set for 9 a.m. tomorrow but did not offer any further details on it. They said that the MPs will be notified after the agenda is uploaded to the website.

The MP for Vilimale' constituency, Nihan, took to Twitter saying that the MPs of the government coalition is ready for the sitting tomorrow and with God's Will, the government would receive the full support to defend against traitors of the country.

Sources say that the 12 MPs, previously declared by the Elections Commission to have lost their parliamentary seats, would be joining the parliament sitting as well.

While a parliament sitting has been set for tomorrow, the 15-day state of emergency declared on 5 February, will expire on Tuesday night. The state of emergency has delayed the opening of the parliament for security purposes.

It is believed that the primary focus of tomorrow's sitting would be the state of emergency. The Constitution states that to make a decision on the state of emergency, it has to be filed with the parliament within 48 hours of declaration. If it is declared between sessions of the parliament, a case has to be filed with 14 days.
