The Indian government has said that they are waiting to see how the Maldivian government's actions are set after the state of emergency in the country ends.
Maldivian government declared a 15-day state of emergency which would end on 20 February 2018.
Spokesperson of the Indian Ministry for External Affairs, Raveesh Kumar said that they do believe there's still a few more days until the state of emergency in the Maldives is lifted.
The Indian government has previously called to the Maldivian government to lift the state of emergency and seek a democratic solution.
Raveesh Kumar said that he believes every country should have an equal investment opportunity.
A state of emergency was declared in the Maldives after a ruling by the Supreme Court to free all the political prisoners. Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed and Supreme Court Judge, Ali Hameed along with the former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom with three MPs were arrested after the state emergency was declared.
