New 1597 members, 63 branches join PPM

Membership forms of 1597 members and 63 branches have been submitted to Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

Leaders of the branches established in atolls submitted the forms to the former president and President of PPM Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom in a ceremony held at STELCO on Thursday afternoon.

After receiving the forms, president of PPM said that more members joining the party indicated the popularity and acceptance among the citizens towards the party.

“This indicates that people have accepted the party. PPM has made a lot of achievements during the past three years. I thank Allah (SWT) for that,” said former president Maumoon.

Addressing in the ceremony, former president Maumoon said that government accomplished acceptance from people for what government has achieved during the first year of the term. Former president Maumoon also thanked the newly joined members and branches in his address.

Some members from the Cabinet and Parliament and many other PPM members participated in the ceremony held on Thursday.
