ACC complains to DJA over Family Court obstructing investigation

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed complaints with Chief Justice Ahmed Faiz Hussain and the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) against the Family Court for refusing to support a corruption investigation.

ACC chief Hassan Luthfee told Sun Online today that the complaints address the manner in which the Family Court officials dealt with ACC officers when they arrived at the court to carry out an investigation. He did not provide further details.

An ACC investigation team was asked to leave the Family Court premises on Thursday. ACC said the court’s officials, in a curt manner, told the ACC officers that they did not wish to discuss the ACC warrant, and that they were “busy with other work.”

Officials at Family Court were not available for comment at the time of press.
