Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has granted permission to continue the construction of the new Lemongrass restaurant.
The ministry sought police intervention to halt the project on 30 April after accusing the restaurant of constructing the new building in violation of regulations.
Director of Lemongrass Atheef Hussain Ahmed told Sun Online today that permission to proceed with construction was granted on Thursday.
He said that their aim was to open the restaurant early Ramadan, which begins this year at the end of June.
Atheef said that permission was obtained from Male’ City Council prior to the commencement of the construction of the restaurant last year.
Male’ City Council said that the restaurant is being constructed in accordance with regulations and permission granted by the council.
