Abdulla Hameed appointed Ambassador-at-Large

Seventeen year veteran at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Hameed has been appointed Ambassador-at-Large.

Foreign Ministry said President Yameen made the appointment on Wednesday, 8 January.

Hameed first joined Foreign Ministry as Chief of Protocol in May 1991, a post he held for 15 years. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on 7 December 2006 and then Minister of State for Foreign Affairs on 14 August 2008.

Prior to his appointment as Ambassador-at-Large, Hameed served as the Maldives Honorary Consul to the Seychelles.
