Telecom giant, Dhiraagu, has signed as the title partner for Dhivehi Premier League, the most prestigious football league in the Maldives.
The tournament brings together the nation’s top clubs and players and represents the highest level of football tournament in the country.
Organized by Football Association of Maldives (FAM), the tournament is scheduled to run from September 18th, 2025, to February 5th, 2026 at the National Football Stadium. It will feature the nation’s top 10 football clubs, including Maziya Sports & Recreation, Club Valencia, Victory Sports Club, New Radiant Sports Club, United Victory, Club Eagles, TC Sports Club, Buru Sports Club, Club Green Streets, and Odi Sports Club.
Ali Riyaz, Chief Commercial Officer at Dhiraagu, said football has always been the nation’s most loved sport and plays a crucial role in bringing communities together.
“As such, we remain committed to supporting the league to uplift the football scene in the Maldives and help develop the next generation of players,” he added.
FAM’s President Ahmed Thariq affirmed the association’s commitment to bring back the spirit and excitement of Maldivian football and in this trajectory, reiterated its commitment to developing players and clubs, creating competitive platforms, and strengthening the game at every level.
“Dhiraagu has always been a key partner of Maldivian football, and we sincerely thank them for their support at a time when it is most needed, as we work towards restoring the pride and glory of football in the Maldives,” he added.
Dhiraagu reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sports development, empowering youth, and fostering community spirit across the nation.
