Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race scheduled for October 24th

Dhiraagu has announced the date for this year’s Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR): Friday, October 24^th.

DMRR will be held at Central Park in Hulhumale’.

It is the first and only international running event in the Maldives to be recognized by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and included in its World Running Calendar, with a race route certified by World Athletics.

While the event unites runners from across the Maldives and around the globe, in 2025, it has expanded to the atolls with the introduction of the Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run.

Runners may choose to participate in the half marathon, 10K, 5K single, or 5K corporate team categories this year. The 5K corporate team category includes an office/resort division, where teams of four runners can compete collectively.

Each year, DMRR offers substantial cash prizes across multiple categories. For 2025, Dhiraagu will award a total prize pool of MVR 256,000 to the winners.

Similar to past editions, DMRR 2025 is dedicated to the vital social cause of child protection—one of the primary focus areas of Dhiraagu’s Corporate Social Responsibility program. The event will serve as a platform for NGOs working in this field to raise awareness and funds for their initiatives.

Applications for NGO registration are currently open and will be accepted until June 30^th.
