Transport Ministry states preparations are complete to commence Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry service in Raa Atoll starting tomorrow.
Transport Ministry, via a statement on Wednesday, said preparations are complete to commence RTL ferry service in Raa Atoll which is the second zone under the Integrated National Public Ferry Network. According to the Ministry, the service will be provided free of charge from Thursday to July 1st, to allow residents to familiarize themselves with the service.
The first-week after launching the service at each atoll has been free of charge to allow residents from the respective region to familiarize themselves with the service.
The service will be ticketed starting from July 3rd.
Transport Ministry said residents can seamlessly book their tickets via RTL website.
The commencement of RTL high-speed ferry service in Raa Atoll would mark the tenth atoll the service has been expanded to. The Integrated National Public Ferry Network is a crucial project undertaken by the government to interlink the Maldivian atolls via a high-speed ferry network.
RTL services are provided by state-owned Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
