Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen, on Sunday, states an ‘Integrated Airport Development Masterplan’ will be publicized within the next month or so.
The Minister made the remark in an interview with state media, PSM.
According to the Minister, the masterplan was formulated under the instructions of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and will pave the way to full pledges of airport development before the conclusion of the current term.
Minister Ameen, citing that the 10-year plan has already been completed, states this was achieved with massive efforts.
In this regard, he detailed that an airport will be accessible within 30 minutes from every island under the masterplan.
He expressed hope that stakeholders involved in the development of airports adhere to masterplan when undertaking the work.
“We have undertaken very comprehensive work to cover the development of private airports, public service airports, international airports, domestic airports and landing and takeoff strips tourism-related purposes in the Maldives [in the plan],” he detailed.
Minister Ameen said the plan will be publicized for both government officials and the public within the next month or so.
