Discarded waste at Hulhumale' Central Park--
The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on Saturday has confirmed that permission was required to place tables and chairs at Hulhumale’ Central Park.
HDC confirmed this amid talks about prior permission required to place tables, chairs or any other similar item for picnics or other personal use.
In its message, HDC said that the public can host picnics or similar get togethers at any public venue, park or beach of Hulhumale’ without prior permission. However, permission is required if tables and chairs are placed in said venues for any of these purposes.
HDC further said its waste inspectors will consistently to maintain cleanliness of Hulhumale’, and added that the corporation had acquired public feedback with regards to the efforts.
HDC said it may collect contact numbers from some public members to clarify further information in said efforts.
Recently, it was revealed that discarded waste had been left at Hulhumale’ Central Park following an event. HDC had brought this to public attention.
Relevant local authorities have amped up their efforts in maintaining cleanliness of the Greater Male’ area, which includes publicizing videos of individuals littering on public places.
