As part of events under ‘Visit Dharavandhoo 2025’, residents of the island have held a mega ‘Maahefun’.
According to Dharavandhoo Council, the event was held on Saturday evening with the participation of residents of the island of all ages as well as tourists visiting the island.
Speaking with Sun, Dharavandhoo Council’s President Ali Sameeh said the ‘Maahefun’ was held as part of events planned under ‘Visit Dharavandhoo 2025’ aimed at promoting the island as a local tourism destination, increasing its visibility, and boosting visitor numbers.
Samih said the ‘Maahefun’ was targeted towards residents of the island of all ages and tourists visiting the island.
He noted cooperation rendered by various institutions based at the island to make the event a success and therefore, extended gratitude.
Notably, Dharavandhoo Council has recently held a religious lecture under the ‘Bodu Dharus’ in preparation for Ramadan, under the ‘Visit Dharavandhoo 2025’ flagship.
According to the Council, efforts are underway to hold the lecture throughout Ramadan on Friday.
Apart from this, the Council said they announced plans to hold special Taraweeh programs for the residents throughout Ramadan, including Quran classes.
