Authorities disband Vietnamese prostitution ring in Maldives

Local authorities have apprehended five Vietnamese nationals believed to be involved in running a large-scale prostitution ring in the Maldives.

The five individuals were apprehended in a joint operation conducted by the police and Immigration to identify expatriates involved in prostitution.

Immigration disclosed the identities of the five individuals – four women and one man - in a post on X on Tuesday.

They are:

  • Long Thi Huong, 37
  • Thi Nhung Nguyen, 35
  • Zas Ros Chau, 40
  • Thi Kien Luu, 41
  • Van Hai Dinh, 35

According to Immigration, the four women worked as prostitutes while the man worked as their agent.

Immigration said that the man and three of the women had arrived in Maldives on work visas.

The agency said it has deported one of the women - Long Thi Huong, and is in the process of deporting the remaining four.
