Authorities rescue picnickers stranded in Dhiguvaru

Authorities have rescued a group of people who went on a picnic to Dhiguvaru, an uninhabited island located in F. Atoll.

According to police, the picknickers were rescued on Wednesday night after the police post in F. Feeali received a report that they were in distress.

The picknickers were rescued by the police with assistance from Feeali Council and ferry workers from the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

The incident did not result in any injuries, and the rescued picknickers were taken to Feeali.

While the police did not disclose details regarding the incident, it came as torrential rain and thunderstorms lash a large part of the Maldives.
