Young athlete Aishath Himna Hassan has won a scholarship from the Bank of Maldives (BML).
The BML announced the recipient of the BML Sports Scholarship 2024 in a statement on Thursday.
The winner of this year’s scholarship, Hamna holds the national record in 200 meters and 400 meters.
According to BML, she will soon begin her yearlong track training at the high-performance training center, SprinTec Track Club in Jamaica.
BML’s sports scholarship program is managed in association with Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC), and the athlete selection process was carried out by MOC.
According to BML, the program aims to support athletes achieve their sporting potential through targeted programs by providing fully funded scholarships for top athletes to train and develop at recognized high performance training centers around the world.
