Projects executed in Haa Dhaal atoll Kumundhoo and Gaaf Dhaal atoll Vaadhoo under the Bank of Maldives (BML) Small Grant Fund have successfully concluded.
The Small Grant Fund was introduced in commemoration of BML's 40th anniversary.
Under the fund, a fishmeal plant was installed in Kumundhoo to effectively manage fish waste and produce fishmeal fertilizer from daily catch discards, and conversation of Bluebowls surf spot reef was carried out in Vaadhoo.
The implementation of the project in Kumundhoo was carried out by Kumundhoo Revival Initiative (KUREVI) and the reef conservation project in Vaadhoo was carried out Huvadhoo Association for Tourism (HAT).
The Small Grant Fund was launched with the aim of assisting local NGOs and associations execute community-centric and eco-conscious initiatives in their local communities.
