Stage at Carnival to demolished to build a new one

Male’ City Council has made an announcement seeking a party to demolish the current stage in Male’ City’s Alimas Carnival and build a new one in replacement.

The announcement publicized on Thursday read that the Council was seeking a party to demolish the Carnival stage and build a new one with their own equipment.

The Council has opened bid submission for the project with the deadline set at 11:00am on December 16th. Prospective bidders must be a Maldivian company, partnership or local investment with a business permit.

As per Male’ City Council, points are allocated for the bids as follows:

  • Price of the project – 50 percent
  • Timeframe – 15 percent
  • Experience – 10 percent
  • Concept – 25 percent

The Council said the successful bidder will be paid upon billing following the completion of the project.

Notably, the stage at Alimas Carnival is extremely worn down now. It has been used as a location for various social events, music shows and political activities.
